LAUREN'S END OF AN ERA
@MODERNYARN IS NOW @LAURENWALLACEARTWORK
"Seasons of life come and go. My fiber art journey will be coming to and end very soon. I started creating my ModernYarn fiber art pieces in 2016. it started as a hobby and then picked up and in 2020 I quit my job to pursue it full time. It was such an exciting time. I was releasing collections every other month that would sell out so quick. Then in 2021 my husband and I packed everything up and moved from Utah to Maine for my husband to start dental school. it was the best decision we ever made, I was still able to grown Modernyarn in the most beautiful place. I had my first baby in 2022. my creative energy took a big hit and when I wanted to create again I was being pulled to other mediums like painting. with my husband in his last year of dental school I know my dip-dyeing fiber art will be done with this season of our life. its a very long, fun, and messy process, but after 8 years of it I'm a little burned out and ready for a new medium. thank you for the support of my fiber art, I hope I made a big enough impression on you as an artist for you to stick around and see what I have in store for 2025."
