Ever since Lauren was little she's been painting, drawing, sewing, and just doing anything she could to create. ModernYarn came about when she finished decorating her first 1 bedroom apartment in 2016 and noticed that she needed a little something more to get the vibe she desired. Her first fiber arts started out very boho and experimental with different techniques like weaving, macrame, and dip-dye but ultimately she fell in love with the possibilities and process of dip-dying.

She was born and raised in Utah but now resides in Maine. Constantly inspired by the nature that surrounds her.

Lauren in a new mom navigating work and mom life balance. Her son brings a new inspiration and motivation to her art. She's excited to bring forward more tapestries and different forms of textured art.
